Heavy nylon shock leader has to absorb a sudden load without becoming a stiff cable at the knot. Sunline Tough-Flexx balances strength and controlled stretch for big-game connections, then adds the flexibility that makes heavy line easier to work with. In this range, 130 to 330 lb, think heavy topshots and wind-on leaders, crimped rigs for nighttime bluefin, and kite-bait leaders where a forgiving nylon absorbs the strike.
That suppleness is most noticeable as the diameter goes up. Knots form with less fight, and braid-to-leader wraps can cinch down cleanly so the connection can use more of the line's available strength. Phantom Gray coloring is designed to suppress scattered light and make the leader less conspicuous in the water.
