Avet SXJ Raptor Plus 6/3 Non-MC Reels

The SXJ Raptor Plus is a powerful little two-speed that punches well above its size. The narrow "J" frame keeps it compact and easy to palm, while the two-speed gearbox and dual carbon-fiber drag give you the range to stop real fish on light tackle. It's an ideal reel for lighter live bait, surface irons, poppers, and jigs. Load it with 40 lb braid and a topshot, or straight 50 lb. We've had customers land dozens of 100 lb-class yellowfin on the SX Raptor, and these reels keep performing well above their weight class.

The Raptor Plus update brought some ergonomic changes over the original Raptor: a reshaped frame that makes it easier to thumb the spool, and a more rounded side plate that's more comfortable to hold through a long day.

This is the Non-MC version. It leaves off Avet's magnetic cast control. If you mostly drop baits, work jigs, or prefer to feather the spool with your thumb, you don't need the magnetic brake, and going without it brings the price down. You still get the full two-speed gearbox, the dual carbon-fiber drag, and the standard glide plate. Machined start to finish from 6061-T6 aluminum in Chatsworth, California.
