Avet MXL 5.8 Star Drag Reels

The wide-spool star drag, and the one to take only if you genuinely need the capacity over the MXJ: 620 yards of 50 lb against the narrow's 410. Same single ratio, same set-and-forget drag, same machined six-bolt reel foot rather than a stamped one.

The width is not buying a heavier reel. It is buying room. The spec table reads 15-50 lb with 20 lb of drag, the same as the narrow version, and in practice it is a 40 lb and under reel just like the MXJ.
