Avet JX G2 6.0 Single Speed Reels

The JX G2 6.0 is a yoyo-iron reel. One gear, nothing to shift, 46 inches of line a crank over 400 yards of 65 lb braid. And the “nothing to shift” is the point: when a yellowtail turns for the rocks or the kelp there is no gear change to make, so no slack line and no second lost looking for one.

A single speed here is a specialist's choice, not an economy. The bait chain is what sets the size: bait quality sets line class, and line class sets reel size. When the bait is good, 40 lb is preferred and sometimes required, and the long-range boats fishing Mexican waters get the best bait.
