Accurate Valiant 2 Slow Pitch Jigging Reels
The Accurate Valiant 2 Slow Pitch Jigging Reels are Valiant 2 lever drags set up for working jigs. Every model comes with Accurate's 3.8" jigging crank arm and an oversized power knob, which gives you leverage through the short lift and fall of a slow pitch jig and when you need to turn a fish that wants to stay on the bottom. Accurate built the series for slow pitch and speed jigging.
Each size comes as a single speed VT or a two speed VT2. The VT models run a 6:1 gear ratio and are the lighter choice, 1 to 1.9 oz less than the two speed at the same size. The VT2 adds a low gear for heavy fish and deep drops: 6:1 and 3:1 on the 300 and 500N, 5:1 and 2.2:1 on the 600NN, 600N and 800N. The 800N comes in two speed only.
There are five sizes. The 300, 500N and 600NN all use a 1" wide spool, which makes it easier to lay braid back on evenly with your thumb between drops. The 300 holds 300 yards of 30 lb braid and the 500N holds 350 yards of 50 lb. The 600NN is the extra narrow 600: it keeps the narrow spool on a 3.13" diameter frame, the same diameter as the 600N, and holds 300 yards of 65 lb. The 600N and 800N have wider spools for more line: 475 yards of 65 lb on the 600N and 425 yards of 80 lb on the 800N. Max drag runs from 24 lb on the 300 to 36 lb on the 800N.
Every model shares the Valiant 2 build: Accurate's CVX frame, precision-cut stainless steel gears and TwinDrag, made in Corona, California. VT models are single speed and VT2 models are two speed; ratio and retrieve (inches of line per crank) are high gear / low gear on the VT2. Every model is available in right or left hand retrieve. Braid capacity as measured by Accurate with Izorline natural white braid.
