Nomad Design MadScad 150 Auto Tune Sinking Stickbaits
At 6 inches, the MadScad 150 Auto Tune is the bluewater size of Nomad Design's new MadScad lineup. It casts like a serious offshore stickbait, and unlike most of them it can also be trolled, swimming properly at 2 to 6 knots when you want to cover water between stops.
The Auto Tune Difference
Nomad's Auto Tune tow point lets the nose move more freely than a fixed line tie. The result is a wider sub-surface S-swim that comes from the lure itself rather than from constant rod work, with extra roll from the deep baitfish body. The action self-corrects, so the lure tracks straight whether it is wound slowly, twitched, or burned, and it resists blowing out at speed.
It sinks and swims below the surface, which keeps it in front of tuna, mahi, jacks, and other offshore predators that shadow a bait without taking it on top. It ships rigged with BKK Diablo 5X 5/0 hooks.
A note on weight: Nomad sells this size as a 3 oz lure, and the box lists 75 g (about 2.6 oz).
