Daiwa Saltist SD Star Drag Reels 2025

The new Saltist star drag reels are a great value oriented reel for offshore, inshore and even surf fishing applications. They cover all of the same sizes as the previous generation with great freespool performance and a centrifugal cast control system. The main change for these reels has been the color which now matches a lot more of the reels from Daiwa and the handle knob which has been upgraded to a larger rubber t-knob which feels more comfortable and more durable than the EVA ball handles on the older models.

The Saltist's are almost entirely based on the Saltiga star drag series, featuring the same design features on the internals with some material changes to make them more affordable, so the parts in both are almost all interchangeable. With that comes great parts support and longevity as well as the benefit of a high end design at a lower price.
