Avet MXJ 5.8 Star Drag Reels

Avet's narrow star drag is the set-and-forget end of the line: one ratio, one drag setting, and true freespool the moment you knock it out of gear. The skinnier spool casts well and lays line level on its own, which is most of why surface-iron fishermen keep asking for a star drag rather than a lever.

On line class, read the table as the outer limit rather than the recommendation. The spec table reads 15-50 lb with 20 lb of drag, but in practice this is a 40 lb and under reel, and it is not a wahoo reel. Ask it to do that and you are fishing outside what it was designed for.
