Avet Classic MXL 6/4 MC Two Speed Reels

The Avet MXL is a great wider size for live bait and bottom fishing, the extra spool size gives you a lot more line capacity so it is especially great if you're running straight mono or a long topshot. Avet rates the Classic series at 10-25lb, and with 9lbs of drag at strike about 30lb line is the practical ceiling. Most people set drag to a quarter or a third of the line's breaking test, so past that point heavier line stops adding pulling power and only costs you capacity. That covers a lot of the fishing we do here in SoCal and can be versatile for a lot of other areas. The MXL casts great especially with the MC magnetic cast control that this model comes with, larger lures should be easy to cast with no backlash. Since these models are discontinued they are now discounted and offer a great value.
